The Mitragyna Speciosa tree is native to Southeast Asia. This evergreen tree is becoming more and more popular due to the increased interest in kratom. History Of The Mitragyna Speciosa Tree

Mitragyna Speciosa is a tropical evergreen tree that is native to Southeast Asia. This tree grows in the tropical climate and thrives in areas such as Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, and Myanmar. It is a part of the coffee family and has been utilized for centuries in the Asian culture.

The M Speciosa tree has a straight trunk with smooth, grey bark. It can grow up to 82 feet in height and three feet in diameter. The leaves on this plant are glossy dark green. They can measure up to 8 inches long and five inches wide.

The Mitragyna Speciosa plant grows naturally throughout the forest of Southeast Asia. However, it does take skill to properly harvest kratom and prepare it to be sold on the market. The soil in this part of the world is very rich and ideal for kratom trees. While this plant does grow naturally there are now many plantations set up to grow and harvest kratom.

There are different types of Mitragyna Speciosa. A skilled kratom farmer will be able to easily identify the various types. There are 4 main vein colors which include red vein, green vein, white vein, and yellow vein. In addition, several kratom strains can be cultivated.

The two main alkaloids in kratom are mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine. The amount and type of alkaloids present in a specific will vary according to where it is grown. The leaves are perhaps the most important part of the Mitragyna Speciosa tree. This is where the alkaloids live. It is the leaves that will be plucked and dried to be crushed into kratom powder.

Kratom powder can be used to make other forms of this herb including Kratom capsules, Kratom tea, Kratom tinctures, and Kratom extracts. There are a lot of kratom alternatives on the market, but there are none that offer the potency that the Mitragyna Speciosa trees do.

Indonesia Kratom Market

Over 95% of the world’s kratom supply comes from Indonesia. This is because Indonesia has the legal means to export kratom all around the world. However, there is a legal process occurring in Indonesia that may result in exporting kratom in the future. It is hard to tell if the ban will be successful or not. The American Kratom Association has made efforts to negotiate with the Indonesian government to prevent these laws from passing.

Strain Classification

Most kratom strains are classified according to the vein color and the area in which it originates.

The 3 main vein colors include red vein, green vein, and white vein. There is a fourth color, yellow vein, but it does not occur naturally in nature. It is the product of a specialized drying process.

Red vein kratom comes from the most mature leaves, and the white vein is from the youngest. Green vein leaves fall right in the middle. There are not all different trees for the various vein colors. All the colors will come from one tree. Farmers will know when to harvest the leaves to obtain the specific vein color that they want.

Aside from the vein color, you have the origins of the Mitragyna Speciosa trees. Regions include Thailand, Indonesia, Sumatra, Borneo, Bali, Malaysia, and much more.

How Are Kratom Leaves Processed?

Kratoms users need to take precautions and make sure that they only buy from reputable vendors. All kratom should be 100% Mitragyna Speciosa. It should not contain any additives, chemicals, or fillers.

It highly depends on the strain as to how it will be processed. Different methods can be used to help obtain specific results. Yellow and Gold strains are the product of red, green, and white strains that have been dried in the sun. Bentuangie kratom powder is created through a fermentation process.

Kratom extracts are created through a completely different process. The leaves will be boiled down to their purest form, which will leave behind a potent resin. This resin will have high concentrations of Mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine alkaloids. However, extracts can also be made with kratom powders.

So you can see, it all depends on what the result is and how the farmers choose to process their kratom leaves.

Can You Grow A Kratom Tree?

The Mitragyna Speciosa tree is native to Southeast Asia and requires a tropical climate to survive. Kratom seeds need to be planted shortly after they have been harvested from the host tree. To give you the best chance at success you will have to plant several seeds.

You can buy kratom seeds from vendors but the chances of them surviving are slim. For your seedlings to thrive the climate will need to be hot and humid. The soil will also need to have high humus levels, be fertile, and have a pH balance ranging between 5.5 to 6.5.

The soil also needs to have good drainage but be able to retain some moisture. You will not want to keep your plant wet at all times because it could attract insects, and also cause a fungus to form.

Nothing is saying you can not grow a kratom tree, but a lot of attention is required to be successful. You will also have to mimic the climate and soil that the plant thrives in. This can be very difficult in some areas across the United States.

Choosing A Kratom Vendor

Know that you know what the Mitragyna Speciosa tree is you may be ready to look for a reliable and trustworthy vendor. While you can source kratom from local shops such as vape shops, smoke shops, or specialty shops, you can get better pricing by going through an online vendor.

There are several things you want to make sure of before committing to buying a kratom product. First of all, before starting any new substances you should always consult with your general practitioner. They know your past and present medical history and can guide you on rather or not kratom is the right herb for you.

Here are some other tips to help you find a trusted online vendor:

  1. Make sure that they are registered with the American Kratom Association. While the kratom industry is not regulated, this organization has put in place GMP protocols that all members must adhere to. This will mean that you are getting the highest quality kratom that the market has to offer.
  2. Read past reviews about products and services. You want to make sure that others have had a positive experience with the company.
  3. Be sure that you check to see if the company offers lab testing on their products. If they do not, then you want to look for another vendor.
  4. Contact the company and see how responsive they are to you. If they take a long time to respond then you will want to seek another online vendor.

These are just some general tips so you can find a vendor that will suit your needs and provide you with the best quality kratom.
