#1 Measure kratom and ethyl alcohol
Be sure to document the number so you can use it to calculate your kratom tincture later on correctly. The quantity of ethyl alcohol that needs to be used will depend on kratom. For each 4 ounces of kratom, you will want to use a liter of ethyl alcohol. Put the powder into the mason jar and mix the ethyl alcohol. Mix the blend so that kratom is exposed to the alcohol.
#2 Mix citric acid into the tincture until the pH level is 4
Start by adding a small quantity of citric acid to your solution. Mix it in and test to see what the acidity level measures on your pH strip. Repeat this method until the tincture hits a pH level of 4 or slightly lower. This procedure will help transform the kratom alkaloids.
#3 Seal the jar and store it properly
You must keep the blend in a closed jar in a cold, dark place for at least one week. This is essential to ensure the tincture extracts the alkaloids from the kratom powder.
