Kratom comes in four vein colors including red, green, white, and yellow. There are tons of different strains with the most popular being Maeng Da, Bali, Thai, Malay, and Borneo. The leaves will be plucked from the Mitragyna Speciosa trees at the most optimal time. The different vein colors represent different levels of maturity in the leaf’s life cycle.

Once the leaves are harvested and dried, they will be crushed into a powder. This powder can then be sold on the market or used to make other kratom products. How to Make Incense from Kratom Powder?

Those who enjoy the aroma created by incense will enjoy kratom powder incense. You will have to experiment as far as strains go and decide which strains offer the best aroma for you. Incense can be made in a few easy steps.

What You Will Need:

  • Uncoated Bamboo Sticks
  • Your Preferred Herbs (Cedar, Lemongrass, Lavender, Sandalwood, etc.)
  • Kratom Powder
  • Pestle and Mortar
  • Makko
  • Warmed Distilled Water
  • Wax Paper

Steps For Making Kratom Incense

  1. Start by grinding up all of the herbs with the kratom powder. You can do this by using a mortar and pestle.
  2. Allow them to sit for a few hours to infuse together.
  3. Add in Makko. You will want to start with 10 to 25% when using herbs and spices. If you have used resin then you will need 40 to 80%. Start on the low side and add in the Makko as needed.
  4. Take out a small portion of the mixture to help if you add too much water later on and need to thicken it.
  5. Begin adding in warm distilled water until it becomes the consistency of play-doh. You should be able to work with it and shape it. Add in the mixture you set to the side if your combination is too sticky.
  6. Knead the dough until everything is mixed together.
  7. Break off 1 to 2-inch chunks of dough. Roll it out to about ¾ the length of the bamboo stick. Then wrap the dough around the stick and put a piece of wax paper around it.
  8. Be sure to rotate your incense every few days. This will ensure that water can evaporate and the sticks can completely dry out. You will want to wait 4 to 5 days before using. The sticks should be able to stand up and be bendable.

Tips For Using Kratom As Incense

Here we will discuss some general tips to help you get the most from your kratom incense. You want to be sure to use your kratom incense in an area where you will be able to relax. After all, incense is designed to help you connect with yourself and find inner peace.

Kratom lets off a distinct aroma that is not enjoyed by everyone. So, you want to be cautious of where you are using it in your home. Be sure that it is used in areas that will benefit you but not bother anyone else.

Kratom incense should be used at a time when you cannot be expected to drive or go anywhere. You want to be able to allow the incense to offer you the relaxing support that you are seeking. Be sure that the incense is placed in an area that is free of flammable objects. You never want to cause a fire.

It’s a good practice to have a fire extinguisher handy when burning anything in your home. This way if something goes awry you are prepared. Safety is key when wanting to use a product such as incense. If you do not have a fire extinguisher keep an adequate amount of water nearby so you can care for any embers that may come off the incense.

Anecdotal reporting says to start with about 6 grams of kratom. You will probably be able to use less than this, but this amount should burn long enough to supply the air with a kratom aroma. Loose powder will not typically burn on its own, so you may have to use a powder burner that will give you the chance to pack it full of kratom powder. Alternatively, you can use a charcoal disk as a sturdy platform for your incense.

If you find that burning the raw kratom powder feels a bit intimidating, you can tone it down by adding in your favorite scent. You can do this by adding dry herbs or a few drops of essential oil. There are really endless possibilities when it comes to burning your own incense. It’s really all about finding what works for you best and rolling with it.

Keep in mind, this is just one way to use kratom as an incense. You can make kratom incense by using the steps above. Be sure once you are done with your incense that you completely extinguish it. Never walk away until all embers are put out and the smoke has calmed. Be sure that you store your kratom in an airtight container and keep it in a cool, dark area.
