What Is Red Horn Kratom?
Horn kratom is the rarest kratom strain and can be tricky to find. Red Horn tends to be a popular choice among kratom enthusiasts because of the potency that it offers. This strain has an impressive alkaloid content which includes mitragynine, mitraphylline, and 7-hydroxymitragynine. However, it is known to have very high levels of 7-hydroxymitragynine.
Where Does Red Horn Kratom Originate From?
Red Horn comes from Southeast Asia countries such as Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand. This strain has been known to be cultivated in the forest of Borneo for many centuries. However, it does pose some difficulties when cultivating and this is what makes Red Horn so rare. It is a hybrid cross of Red-veined strains and Maeng Da kratom. This gives it its characteristic color and shape. Some avid users consider Red Horn to be a type of Maeng Da.
How Is Red Horn Kratom Made?
Since Red Horn kratom is hard to grow it will typically be produced in small batches. The leaves have a spiky feature and this is what has given this strain its name. These spikes resemble horns. The leaves of Red Horn have the same alkaloid content as Maeng Da, and this is why a lot of people connect the two.
Once the leaves are harvested, they will go through a drying process. The leaves will then be crushed to form a powder. That powder will be sold on the market or can be used to make capsules, tinctures, and extracts.
